Is it well made? Does it protect the doll being carried? Is she likely to fall out? Is there room for doll clothes and if yes, than how much? Are the backpack straps big enough for a large child (teen) to use? How about the handle on the suitcase, is it a normal height or made shorter for little kids?
Thanks in advance. My niece has her 14th bday coming up and I was just thinking this might be a nice gift.

Hi
The backpack is great. I often carry it when Rachel gets tired. The doll fits very securely and has shoulder straps to hold her in. There is lots of room for stuff in the backpack.
The luggage is just OK. It doesn't unzip far enough, so loading clothes is hard. It is bigger than the kiddie ones at Toys R Us. I am not sure it was worth the money. At 14 you many want to get her REAL luggage instead. As it will not hold enough for her to travel.
Hope this helps.

I echo Kym's sentiments. The suitcase doesn't upzip far enough for packing, but otherwise the suitcase combo is really great! I wear it with no problem, even 20 pounds ago. I am 5'3" tall, and the height of the suitcase is just fine for me. When we went to Chicago, I packed a ton of stuff for Addy in the backpack and most of my items in the suitcase. It's just as roomy as any other rollaboard suitcase I've had.
Hope this helps!

Thanks MaryCarly. Kirsten knows she is my special doll and she is modest so she never lets the other girls know

I agree with the 'not zipping far enough'...I was very disappointed in that feature. My 11 (almost 12) still loves it, but I am not impressed. I like the My Twinn, suitcase better, but it is more like a weekend bag...Great for my 7 year old when she goes to her dad's...

We only have the backpack but DD and I both love it. It was actually a little big for her when she got it (age 7) so I think it would be good for your niece. I do sometimes end up carrying it on trips and it's fine for an adult.
